Hybrid Lawn Care Overview

Disclaimer: Since not all lawns are the same, additional applications may be necessary to improve the health of your soil and turf. Turf care specialists will analyze your lawn to determine what may be necessary to improve it. Sometimes, the process of building a healthy lawn can take up to two growing seasons, but your patience ensures it will be the envy of the neighbors.

Hybrid Gold Lawn Care Program

The Gold Hybrid Lawn Care Program provides your lawn with a source of natural turf fertilizers that are activated by biological matter. We start with a laboratory soil test that provides a baseline for your soil and tells us whether it is lacking any essential nutrients that need to be addressed. After the test we will consult you and make recommendations to resolve any issues.

From there, the Gold Program includes seven fertilizer applications along with crabgrass control and a lime application. Another part of the program is seeding in the early spring, which will fill in bare areas in the lawn and help to thicken the lawn up, preventing weeds without additional chemical use.

Included in the Gold Hybrid Lawn Care Program

  • Seven fertilizer applications
  • Reduced risk crabgrass/weed control
  • Lime application
  • Laboratory soil analysis
  • Early spring seeding

Hybrid Platinum Lawn Care Program

The Platinum Hybrid Lawn Care Program is a premium, worry-free lawn care program that allows you to leave your lawn in our hands, knowing we will do whatever it takes to keep it green and healthy. The Platinum Program incorporates the Gold Program as described above, then incorporates additional water management additives, reduced risk grub control, amino acids, and fungus control. The water management additive will help retain moisture in the soil and slowly release it as the grass needs it. Our reduced risk grub control product is applied right as the grubs are becoming most active, it will kill the turf damaging grubs and won’t harm other beneficial insects such as bees and earthworms. Amino acids are the basic building blocks of proteins and are key to helping turf recover and grow during times of stress. We will apply these amino acids exactly when your lawn needs them, primarily around the hot summer months and going into the fall. The increased use of our hybrid fertilizers and soil inoculants will reduce the need for any bio-fungicides, but we will monitor your lawn for fungus throughout the season. All of these services combined make for a high-quality lawn care program worthy of the platinum status.

Included in the Platinum Hybrid Lawn Care Program

  • Seven fertilizer applications
  • Reduced risk crabgrass/weed control
  • Lime application
  • Water management additive (3 applications)
  • Reduced risk grub control
  • Amino acid additive
  • 2 Spot treatment of weeds
  • Laboratory soil analysis

Amendments in Our Lawn Care Programs

Lime

Lime offers various benefits to the soil of your lawn, but the three important ones are improving the soil chemistry, encourages beneficial biology in the soil, and improves the overall structure of the soil. An important aspect of Lime is the managing of your soil’s pH level, this falls under the soil structure. Grass grows best at a pH level of 6.5-6.8 and lawns in Massachusetts are a little acidic by nature (having a low pH level) so the lime will help balance that out and make conditions better suited for growing.

Gypsum

Gypsum is used to help reduce soil compaction, improve the calcium-to-magnesium ratio, and reduce sodium levels in the soil.  Reduced soil compaction and a better calcium-to-magnesium ratio will enhance root growth and improve water and airflow to the turf root zone. Gypsum will also remove sodium from the soil profile by pushing it down below the root zone of the grass, where it can no longer do any damage. East Coast lawns suffer from salt damage yearly because of our winters and the salt applied to the roads to melt snow and ice. This salt ends up on our lawns and will then leach into the soil, making spring grass recovery difficult.

Humic+ Plus

Humic+Plus is a Humate that improves the cation exchange capacity (CEC) which is the soils ability to attract, retain, and exchange beneficial cations such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. This is important because it will aid in the stimulation of soil biology and improves the overall soil structure.

Charge-S3

Charge-S3 is a three in one soil conditioner, bio-stimulant, and natural nutrient that is made from biochar, molasses, kelp, animal and plant proteins. Charge S3 can be applied multiple times throughout the season based on the results of the soil test and will aid in water and nutrient retention and absorption of inhibitory compounds.
