Aeration in North Shore, MA

Are you tired of looking out at your lackluster, thinning lawn? North Shore, MA's expert in lawn aeration is here to transform your grass into a masterpiece. With over 8 years of experience, we know exactly what your lawn needs to thrive. Our aeration and seeding service is designed to promote healthier turf and give you the lawn of your dreams. Here are the benefits you can expect when you choose our aeration and seeding services:

  • Stronger, fuller grass: Our specialized grass seed mixture promotes healthier turf, resulting in a thicker, more robust lawn that will make you the envy of the neighborhood.
  • Reduction in disease and thatch: By improving the airflow to your soil, our aeration techniques help prevent the buildup of harmful thatch and reduce the risk of disease. Say goodbye to those unsightly brown patches once and for all.
  • Reduced compaction of soil and grass: Our expert aeration process loosens compacted soil, allowing crucial nutrients, air, and water to penetrate deep into the ground. This encourages greater rooting and deeper nutrient release, resulting in a lawn that thrives.
  • Increased drought tolerance: Don't let dry spells leave your lawn looking lackluster. Our aeration and seeding treatments enhance your grass's ability to withstand drought conditions, keeping it green and lush all year round.
  • Reduction in water runoff: We understand the importance of preserving our precious resources. By improving your soil's ability to absorb water, our services minimize water runoff, ensuring that every drop counts.

Our Aeration and Seeding Services

Aeration and seeding offer numerous advantages for your lawn. By incorporating these practices into your lawn care routine, you can improve soil compaction, enhance nutrient absorption, and promote healthier root development. Learn more about the benefits of aeration and seeding your lawn.

Aeration Service

For many years, professional golf course greens keepers have known that the secret to a beautiful, dense turf is to aerate their course two or three times each year to allow the healthy grass roots to thrive. Aeration removes cores of soil from the lawn to allow for improved exchange of gasses between the soil and the atmosphere, improved water filtration, improved rooting, decreased soil density, and a site for seed germination. Aeration is performed during the fall months of the year after the heat and humidity of summer have broken.

Overseeding Service

When overseeding, we use our Velvet Green Resilient Turf Mix. This proprietary grass seed mixture contains grass varieties that are lateral spreading and salt-, heat-, and drought-tolerant. This combination of grass seed will help lawns remain resilient through some of the harshest summer conditions in the future. Introducing new, improved cultivars of turfgrasses helps keep the lawn thick and healthy.

Topdressing Service

Adding a thin layer of compost over the seed bed after aeration and seeding have been performed is like buying insurance on the work. It gives a light covering to the seed which protects it from wind and birds. It also insulates the seed and allows it to stay more moist from irrigation. Topdressing reduces lawn stresses, helps keep thatch under control, and acts as a long-term natural fertilizer.

Velvet Green treats my lawn with organic products, which I love. My technician, Patty, does a great job and always answers any questions that I have. Highly recommend!

I just signed up with Velvet Green for their lawn care service. The sign up process was easy and communication has been great. They came for the initial service of a Lyme application and soil sampling. It is way too early to measure results but so far so good.

UPDATE: after three consecutive seasons using Velvet Green our lawn is thick and green even after a summer of sparse rain. See the third season photo. My husband and I are so pleased with the service and the results we’ve seen in our lawn. In May 2022, Velvet Green began taking care of our lawn. Their people are knowledgeable and professional.Take a look at the results—after a summer drought during which we mostly watered using collected rainwater! UPDATE. See photo from November 2024 after third season.
